Jonathan Beck, NSCA-CPT
About Me:
My journey into the fitness and health world started as far back as I can remember. All throughout my life I had been a multi-sport athlete, with hockey being my primary focus. That is, until a few injuries led me to give up my sports career as a teenager. That’s when I decided to start lifting weights and I fell in love with it instantly. I thrived in the gym, and when I wasn’t working out I was spending all of my free time researching and learning as much as I could about fitness.
With my background and knowledge in physical activity and training, I felt like a career as a personal trainer was the perfect thing for me. But it wasn’t until I got sick, and found my health in rapid decline, that I came to appreciate everything outside of the gym that plays a role in fitness as well. Some of my conditions can’t be cured, but by taking a health-first approach, and prioritizing nutrition and lifestyle factors, I’ve been able to slowly regain my health and get back to training. It’s in this pursuit that I decided to become a Certified Nutrition Coach as well, because everything starts and ends with healthy dietary practices. Somewhere along my own path of healing I realized that there are a lot of other people in the same position that I was in - getting little to no help from the health care system and the medical world - so I decided to step up and get the certifications to be able to help people overcome their issues just like I have.
As a coach, I take a holistic approach to my clients health and wellbeing. This means focusing on optimizing health factors outside of the gym to make sure that you can make the most of your time in the gym, to really transform your life.
